The first by John 2 Williams, London, circa 1690, the second by Joseph Bunney, Birmingham, circa 1775
The first with three-stage cannon barrels engraved with a band of stylised foliage at the rear, border engraved side-action box-locks signed below the steel-springs and fitted with a stud safety-catch to the rear of each cock, bulbous walnut butts (probably replaced) retained by a single screw through the iron strap above the breech, engraved separate trigger-guards, and pierced scroll side-plates (cocks replaced, some wear and pitting to iron parts), London proof marks; the second with associated three-stage cannon barrel, engraved breech, signed flat bevelled lock engraved with rococo ornament, moulded walnut butt (repaired) inlaid with silver wire scrolls and shells around the barrel tang, silver mounts comprising trophy of arms side-plate, engraved trigger-guard (repaired), grotesque mask pommel, and oval escutcheon retaining traces of crest and initials (in worn condition, some pitting, cock replaced), London proof marks
