The first of wrought iron, the flat plate left rough from the forge, widening and shaped to a series of ornamental cusps and points at one end, and at the other decorated with an applied panel of Gothic tracery between a vertical border of crockets and a rope-like rib, the keyhole framed in two applied stems each terminating in a Gothic leaf; the second also of wrought iron, comprising an attachment plate rough from the forge, and a hinged hasp comprising a narrow flat strip carrying the chiselled figure of a recumbent dragon and fitted with a staple on its inner side; both now mounted on the same wooden stand
