A Spanish silver casket
Barbastro, circa 1630, maker's mark lacking
Rectangular, on four compressed ball feet, with ribbed moulded borders, the sides repoussé and chased with a frieze of scrolling strapwork and vacant oval cartouches on a textured ground, the stepped domed cover similarly decorated, with raised central rectangular platform and central gadrooned dome with key-shaped finial, the corners of the cover and central platform each with an acorn-shaped finial (one detached), the centre front cover with hinged escutcheon fitting, the centre of casket with attached swivel key, marked on underside
