Lot Essay

Elector Frederick III of Brandenburg (1657-1713), son of the Great Elector, succeeded his father in 1688 and crowned himself 'King in Prussia' in 1701. The Huaut brothers were appointed enamel painters to the Elector of Brandenburg in 1686, and were dismissed on 16 August 1700.
