Charles (1716-1788), third son of King Philip V of Spain from his marriage to Elizabeth Farnese, was Duke of Parma and Piacenza 1731-1735 under the name of Charles I, King of the Two Sicilies 1735-1759 under the name of Charles VII and King of Spain 1759-1788 as Charles III. In 1738, he married Maria-Amalia (1724-1760), daughter of Frederick-Augustus II, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland.
