A young Lady called Caroline Dugan, facing right with dark curling upswept brown hair, sky and cloud background; together with a young Gentleman, facing right in black coat, waistcoat and cravat (American School, circa 1842)
the former signed on the obverse 'Bridport' (lower right) and on the
ovals, 2½ in. (64 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame with die-stamped border, the reverse with off-centre glazed aperture; and silver-gilt frame with engine-turned reverse with off-centre aperture with lock of plaited hair and engraved initials EAN and date 1842 (2)
