From their vinous aerie high atop Howell Mountain in Napa, Bill and Joan Smith create some of California's most powerfully seductive red wines. The seduction extends to consumers and critics alike. Throughout the 1990's La Jota's Cabernet Francs and Cabernet Sauvignons have been ranked at the very top by critic Robert Parker, and the 5,500 case total production is tightly allocated. Offered below are rare large-format verticals of La Jota's flagship wine, The Cabernet Sauvignon Anniversary Release, of which 1,000-1,400 cases are produced each year. The vintages represented, 1994-1997, are the greatest ever produced at this property, and are enormously rich, powerful, and complex wines that will age for decades. Also offered are six bottles each of the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain and Anniversary Release. Proceeds from the sale of this lot of 750ml bottles will be donated to the Discovery Land Preschool in Angwin, California.
