LAIL
One of the hottest new Howell Mountain producers, Robin Lail launched her microproduction red wine, J. Daniel Cuvée, with the release of the 1995 vintage. The name is a tribute to her father, John Daniel, the owner of Inglenook during its halcyon days in the 1940s and 1950s, and expresses her determination to produce uncompromisingly great wine. The winemaker is the talented Philippe Melka. The 1995 vintage was a blend of 56 Merlot and 44 Cabernet Sauvignon; grapes were sourced from the Napanook and Vine Hill Vineyards in Yountville and the Mole Hill Vineyard on Howell Mountain. Production was 450 cases.
