Each with a padded drop-in seat, one covered in red velvet the other in blue wool floral gros point needlework, with a plain seat-rail on cabriole legs and claw feet, some angle brackets replaced, one with indistinct chalk inscription, one leg spliced, one leg with restored break

Lot Essay

A similar pair of stools with pad feet was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 26 April 1990, lot 80, and a further pair with claw feet and C-scrolls at the top of the legs was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 5 December 1991, lot 207.
