A Minton majolica pedestal jardinière
the ovoid bowl with a waisted neck moulded with bands of stiff leaves below a rope-twist above three lion masks and rossettes suspending festoons of fruit, nuts, pinecones and leaves, the gadrooned lower section supported by three scantilly-clad kneeling figures between cornucopiae issuing fruit and leaves, on a circular base, shape 1366, impressed mark, year cypher for 1875 (a faint stress crack to the underside of base) -- 51cm. high See colour plate 4
