A large Dresden dark-blue-ground two-handled vase and domed cover
with gilt double serpents' head handles with leaf terminals, the oviform body painted to either side with a Watteauesque scene within shaped cartouche gilt with scrolls and foliage, above gadrooned lower section, on spreading circular foot, above circular plinth base gilt with similar cartouches, printed blue marks, late 19th century (restored, some rubbing to gilding) -- 84cm. high
