Lot Essay

Bugler Freeland Lovett was born in Botley, Hampshire in 1862 and enlisted in the Royal Marine Artillery from Hampshire Militia in 1876. Subsequently employed in the Royal Marine Battalion in Egypt, he was 'Discharged Dead' on 30.8.1882, having died of wounds probably gained at Kassassin two days earlier.
