Private George Chapman, who was from Homerton in Middlesex, was killed in action on 21.3.1918, while serving in the 7th Battalion, Rifle Brigade. Based at Clastres, the 7th was subjected to a 'heavy drum-fire bombardment' in the early morning hours.
