Corporal Frederick Howell Titley, M.M., first entered the French Theatre of War in December 1915 and was decorated for his services in the 13th Battalion, Rifle Brigade during October 1918, when at least two large scale attacks were mounted along the Mesnieres - Beaurevoir line and at Briastre, the former assault being supported by three tanks.
