A Sparton Model 557 radio receiver,
designed by Walter Teague, in rectangular case with blue mirror-glass to the front and top, ebonised right-hand end with chrome-plated wrap-around straps, on three ebonised wood strips curving up left-hand sides -- 16in. (40.5cm.) wide, circa 1937 (front mirror glass replaced, top with light scratches and small blemishes in silvering)
