The shaded indigo field with various hooked and floral panels, animal figures and birds around a single column of brick-red and ivory angular large panels containing various hooked smaller panels linked by hooked and floral lozenges flanked by bold large moss-green and ivory cusped leaves containing various floral motifs, in a shaded yellow border of hooked lozenges between zigzag and barber-pole stripes, localised slight wear, very slight loss at each end

This charming rug has several unusual features; the bold design is worked in a wide spectrum of colours and contains a stylised ewe and its suckling lamb in the main field.
