Details
A Continental 18ct gold and enamel European Cup-Winners' Cup medal, the obverse cast with a footballer and inscribed UEFA, the reverse inscribed 1964/65, Coupe des Vainqueurs de Coupe Europeene; and an E.C.W.C Final, match programme, 19/5/65, the cover autographed by Geoff Hurst, and also autographed on the team line up page by all the West Ham United team except Burkett.
West Ham United returned to Wembley for the second time in twelve months and again were part of one of the finest matches to grace the hallowed turf. The European Cup-Winners' Cup played before a crowd of 100,000 between The Hammers and Munich 1860 was played in a highly competitive but sporting manner throughout. The first-half, although without goals was enjoyed immensely by the huge crowd with both sides going out from the start to play attacking football. With the inexperienced Alan Sealey and Brian Dear replacing the injured England International strikers Brabrook and Byrne, the West Ham fans could have been excused for feeling apprehensive prior to the final. However, both newcomers played like veterans from the start and it was Sealey who scored both of United's goals in the 69th and 71st minutes, to bring the trophy to England for only the second time.
