In the opening game of the 1970 World Cup Tournament played in Mexico against Rumania on 2nd June 1970 at the Jalisco Stadium, Guadalajara before 50,000 spectators, England defeated Rumania 1-0. In the next match against Brazil played on 7th June 1970 at the same stadium before 66,750 spectators, Brazil defeated England 1-0. In the final match of the Tournament played against West Germany on 14th June 1970 at the Guanajuato Stadium, Leon before 23,250 spectators, West Germany defeated England 3-2 after extra time
