With moulded cornice and drop-pendant frieze above a pair of doors each with four fielded panels, with two frieze drawers and a pair of three panel doors below, on stile feet, original handles, the door knobs replaced

Lot Essay

A related cupboard is illustrated in both L. Twiston-Davies and H. J. Lloyd-Johnes, Welsh Furniture, Wales, 1950, fig. 84 and Victor Chinnery, Oak Furniture, The British Tradition, Woodbridge, 1979, p. 325, fig. 3.278, indicating a provenance of the Vale of Teifi, Cardiganshire. The latter cupboard, is in the National Folk Museum at St Fagans, Cardiff.
