The curved rectangular padded back, and outscrolled padded arms covered in red striped cotton, on turned tapering legs, brass caps and castors, lacking squab, the upholstery distressed, the seat rail inscribed in pencil 'Cornwall...'

Probably supplied to James, 5th Earl Cornwallis (d. 1852), Ashurst Park, Kent.
