AN OAK DRESSER
Possibly Cheshire/Lancashire, late 17th Century
With moulded top and plate-rail, above two rows of three drawers, each with twin raised moulded panels, on turned and block front legs, the top left drawer lining incised 'Wm. W. 1788', some strengthening and repair to drawer runners, one front leg replaced and two back legs spliced, the handles probably replaced

Lot Essay
Although no low dresser of this model has as yet been recorded, the similarities between this lot and lot 279 might be grounds for a tentative attribution to the Cheshire/Lancashire area.
