Carved overall with rocaille, the rectangular padded back, part-padded arms and seat covered in 19th century gros point needlework depicting birds within floral garlands and foliage, the waved toprail centred by a cabochon above slightly outcurved arms with scroll terminals and leaf-wrapped supports, above a shaped front rail centred by a cabochon, on shell-headed cabriole legs and rocaille wrapped feet, with later brass castors, stamped 'I. Govrdin', one strut inscribed in ink 'Crofton' and in pencil 'frame 21', another strut inscribed in pencil 'Warburton', another strut indistinctly inscribed 'Palmer', paper label to seat-rail inscribed in ink 'B 175', regilt
