Truesley (Toxenai), Derbyshire was listed in the Survey of Domesday. The Tudor manor belonging to William Coke (d. 1716) was inherited by his daughter and passed by descent to the Reverend Francis Wilmot in the early 19th century. Additions were made to the remaining portion of the Tudor manner in the early 20th century, and it is likely to have been at this period that its coach house was embellished with 17th century panelling from Kirkby Hall, Nottinghamshire.
