Each incorporating four 16th century carved oak panels, with varying foliate designs
each interior panel -- 7 x 20in. (18 x 51cm.)
each framed panel -- 44½ x 25in. (113 x 63.5cm.) (2)

Lot Essay

The panels have 'parchment' foldings enriched with vine stems, as can be found on an early 16th century panel and on the panels of a framed chest, presented to the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1921 and 1938 (see C. Tracey, English Medieval Furniture and Woodwork, London, 1988, pl. 113).
