Cook Inglese IN ROMA Presso la Calcograf.a Cam.le 1790 Gio.Ma.Cassini C.R.S.inc , made up of twelve colour reproduced paper gores and two polar calottes, the equator and the pirme meridian, running through Ferro, graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac, the oceans with the tracks of Captain Cook's voyages with month and year of position reached, the continents with some nation states outlined in red, yellow or green, showing rivers, mountains in pictorial relief, towns and cities, South Africa labelled Ottentotti, north-western America largely blank, Tasmania shown attached to Australia; the celestial GLOBO CELESTE Calcolato per il corrente anno sulle Osservazioni del Sigg. Flamsteed e de la Caille ROMA Presso la Calc.a Cam.le 1792 Inciso dal P. Gio. M.a Cassini C.R.S. made up of twleve colour reproduced paper gores and two polar calottes laid to the celestial poles, the equatorial graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the stars shown on a star chart to six orders of magnitude plus nebulae and varous labelled with Greek and Roman letters, the constellations finely engraved and depicted by mythical beasts and figures and scientific instruments; both spheres in an ungraduated brass meridian circle, the octagonal ebonised horizon with hand-coloured reproduction paper ring with graduations in degrees and days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, raised on four slender fluted ebonised legs, united by baluster turned cross stretchers to central meridian support
