A 33cm. diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and Greenwich meridian graduated in degrees, the oceans showing warm and cold ocean currents, submarine telegraph cables, steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and journey time in days, shaded wider or narrower according to frequency of use, the Atlantic with the route in dark red of the Graf Zeppelin, several islands with notes next to them such as Ananas Zucker Kopra by Hawaii, and Phosphate in the mid Pacific, much of Polynesia and the Australasian islands circled and labelled Kokospalme (Kopragewinnung), the continents with nation states variously shaded and showing rivers, mountains, towns, cities, railway and telegraph lines, the Chinese Wall, caravan routes, and areas of production for steel, coal, wool, gold, silver, zinc, corn, wheat, rice, asbestos and numerous other products (some slight abrasions and scratches) with a stamped brass meridian half-circle, held aloft by a bronze figure of Atlas, kneeling on a turned rosso lanquedoc plinth base
