A fine hand-coloured engraving of two projections of the earth and of the heavens, subtitled GENERALIS EHIBITIO Quam ex novissimus probatissimisque Gallorum & Batavorum Tabulis concinnatam, multisq phænominis illustratam. Baptista Homann Morimbergæ, the terrestrial projections encircled by details relating to the climate and graduated in degrees, the equatorial also graduated in degrees, the prime meridian runningthrough Ferro, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the oceans with trade winds, ocean currents, the tracks of Tasman in 1642, Magellan in 1519-22, and those of various other navigators, with numerous other notes such as in the north Atlantic a partial stretch of coastline labelled FRIESLAND I. vel fabulosa vel submersa, the continents with North America and Europe shaded green, Africa pale yellow, Asia pink, and Australasia orange, North America with uncertain north-west coastline, partially labelled Costa detecta a Dom Ioan de Gama navigante ex China in Novam Hypanium, the most northern part with definite cartography labelled Moozemleck Regio, California shown as an island, a note of the northern coast of Russia, near to the Pole, reading hucusque Hollandi pervenerunt, north-eastern Russia shown as a separate landmass incorporating Japan, China showing the Great Wall, New Guinea with no southern coastline, Australia with only the western coastline shown, and Tasmani with only the southern tip of coastline shown, Australia labelled NOVA HOLLANDIA.
