TWO SEATED BRONZE BODHISATTVA
18th and 19th centuries
The older seated in dyhanasana on a double lotus base, the hands held in varada and vitarka mudras, holding lotus stems blossoming at the shoulders, wearing long draped robes and beaded necklaces, with rosette earrings, the face with a meditative expression framed with a foliate crown, a small aureole behind the head, traces of gilt; the later, seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, the hands holding a kalasa, clad in long draped robes and beaded necklaces inset with coral, turquoise and lapis beads, the face framed with a foliate crown, the hair gathered into a high top knot
