This bronze was one of a number of works by Rembrandt Bugatti acquired by Tiffany and Co. directly from Galerie Adrien A. Hébrard.

Lot Essay

This work is recorded in the archives of the Conservatoire Rembrandt Bugatti, Paris and is believed to have been cast in an edition limited to five. The original plaster maquette for the work, (reproduced above) was gifted by Adrien Hébrard to the Galleria Nationale d'Arte, Rome, in 1925.
