Taken from a Roman fresco in the Aldobrandini villa, moved to the Vatican in 1818. There is a painting of this fresco in the Galleria Doria Pamphili, in Rome. There is another fan leaf painted with this fresco in the Linda Bennati de Dominicis Collection, illustrated plate 64, Sulle ali del Tempo, Milan, 1999.
The same fresco appears on a fan leaf bought in Naples by Lady Ponsonby, illustrated facing p. 123, History of the Fan by G. Woolliscroft Rhead and on a another leaf illustrated fig. 63, centre, The Fan by Mary Gostelow
