A fan, the leaf painted with a couple picnicing by a river and another couple dancing and a man playing a hurdy gurdy, the verso with a couple, the gentleman playing a flute, the ivory sticks carved and pierced and painted with a frieze with houses, a swan, a windmill, a lamb and a squirrel, the guardsticks applied with mother of pearl and tortoiseshell - 11in. (28cm.), circa 1730, the verso probably a 19th century pastiche
