A REGENCY PADOUK AND ROSEWOOD SOFA TABLE
The rounded rectangular twin-flap top banded in partridgewood and boxwood, above two mahogany-lined drawers to each side, on rectangular end-supports joined by an arched stretcher, on square tapering downswept legs, brass caps and castors

Lot Essay

When acquired from a London dealer in 1950, this table was said to have come from the collection of the Earls of Rosebery. Given the 1950 date, it seems possible that it was part of the furniture in his London house in Berkeley Square, dispersed in 1939.
