Crossbanded in rosewood to the front, the inverted breakfront cornice above a plain frieze and a pair of panelled doors enclosing four slides and a later hanging-rail, the lower section with a small ash-lined deep drawer flanked by two small drawers and one deep drawer, above three long graduated drawers, on square tapering sabre feet, one foot chipped, the handles associated

Lot Essay

The top drawer arrangment with a deep central drawer flanked by small drawers is a particularly Scottish feature as seen on a Regency chest-of-drawers in the collection of the National Trust for Scotland at Malleny House (illustrated in F. Bamford, A Dictionary of Edinburgh Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Furniture History Society, 1983, fig. 86A).
