A fine Chinese blue and white five-piece garniture
Kangxi (1662-1722)
Comprising three slender baluster jars and covers and two beaker vases, the sides delicately moulded and finely painted with rows of petal panels enclosing a monkey nibbling on a nut, pairs of rabbits, ducks, phoenix, cranes, goats, quails, a spotted stag, a reclining deer, an eagle, a qilin and flowering plants, all within pine-needle borders, surmounted by a slightly waisted neck encircled with joined lozenge-shaped octafoil panels enriched with stylised flower-heads, one beaker restored, one cover with small rim restoration, small chips and frittings
