These garnitures are of a type known as a "mirror set". They were placed on cupboards and were always an integral part of the Dutch interior.

cf. D.F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, Delft, München, 1984, pp.83-85 for a discussion about garnitures.
A. Aronson, Catalogue Dutch Delftware, Amsterdam, ill.6 for a "mirror set".
