A china-headed doll
with twelve long moulded black ringlets, arranged in facing pairs around the head, blue painted eyes, peg-jointed wooden body and china limbs, the legs with painted red slippers, the right hand modelled clenched in a fist, wearing home-made black silk skirt, net cape and green and red shot silk overskirt -- 12in. (30cm.) high, German circa 1860 (crazing to shoulders and left arm, remains of glue and wear to top of head, clothes not contemporary)
