A rare Simon & Halbig fashionable doll
with swivel neck, closed half-smiling mouth, fixed bright blue eyes, long brows, ears pierced into the head, elaborately arranged blond mohair wig held by blue silk ribbon, cotton twill over wood body with swivelling or tongue and groove joints at shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, bisque arms, socks, shoes and underclothes -- 17in. (43cm.) high, circa 1870 (arm needs attaching, body stained)
