A painted felt-faced Farnell doll
with blue eyes, blonde mohair wig, velveteen body and original blue and white cotton check frock, matching knickers, dark blue felt coat, hat and shoes -- 18½in. (47cm.) high, circa 1938 foot label embroidered Farnell's Alpha Toys (small hole in left thumb, very slight dirt)

Lot Essay

This doll shows remarkable similarities to the Princess Elizabeth doll produced by Chad Valley in 1938 and would appear to be a pirate copy made without Royal approval.
