This design pre-dates the creation of the Wiener Werkstätte, when Hoffmann was producing designs for a number of Viennese manufacturers. The Sturm archives retain a period photograph of the present design (no. 135) inscribed in ink in a contemporary hand, Hoffmann entwurf.
