A Small Footed Porcelain Dish
Okawachi, Nabeshima Ware, Edo Period (18th Century)
Decorated with falling cherry blossoms, three 'wicker' baskets and overlapping waves, the baskets rendered in two shades of underglaze-cobalt, the waves also in underglaze-blue and the blossoms painted in overglaze red enamel, the underside of the dish designed with three large formal flower sprays and with a 'comb-tooth' band around the raised foot, all in underglaze-blue
