Lot Essay

Parvati sits in an unusual position on Shiva's thigh, lovingly embracing him, and with Nandi standing foursquare rather than recumbent; compare similar characteristics in a somewhat more elaborately executed example from the collection of Nasli and Alice Heeramaneck, cf.
