Well carved with his legs outstretched resting his head on his arm, with a miniature figure emerging from a lotus at the center, his face with a benign expression wearing a tall cylindrical headdress and beaded necklace

This is a very rare depiction of a reclining Vishnu at the moment of awakening, when Brahma emerges from his navel upon a lotus to create a new universe; for a further discussion see J.
