Ram Kumar said of his trip to New Zealand: "One feels like a silent spectator lost in the mysterious mist spreading from the ephemeral blue of the vast expanse of sky, lakes, oceans and mountains. A landscape is like a perfect, organized painting full of pictorial elements, receding into the formless forms similar to a "Still Life" of turbulent landscape." (Ram Kumar, Ram Kumar: Recent Works, New Delhi, 1999, p.13)
