The rectangular field worked with a pair of phoenix in flight, one above the other, each grasping a large peony branch in its beak, their long tails entwined with further peony, both above a quatrefoil panel centered by a formal lotus above a pair of frolicking Buddhistic lions, all within a lotus scroll border, the velvet of deep burgundy color against a vibrant gold ground
