Of elliptical section, the tall body tapering towards the bottom edge and towards the simple arched handle spanning an aperture in the top, the two sides decorated primarily in thread relief with different bands of various animals including a rooster and hen, tigers, horses and birds with long tails, alternating with bands of diamond pattern and dogtooth bands, with blue-green and ferrous encrustation

Compare three related bells of this unusual type, but of slightly different shape, also decorated in low relief with birds, the feathers similarly indicated by cross-hatching illustrated in Zhongguo qing tong qi quanji (A Complete Selection of Chinese Bronzes), Beijing, 1993, vol. 14, p. 172, no. 209.
