A Group of Four Small Silver and Parcel-Gilt Boxes
Tang Dynasty
Three of the boxes lobed and of flower form, two with six lobes, the smallest with eight lobes, the two smallest boxes decorated with bird and flower motifs reserved on a ring-punched ground, the largest chased top and bottom with a large flowerhead and foliate designs, the fourth circular box left plain except for a gilded flowerhead on the cover divided into cells to hold glass inlay within a finely granulated outer border
