A Dutch figured walnut longcase clock
Probably Frisian, last quarter 18th Century
The bombé case with canted angles, on later bun feet, the rectangular trunk door with cut corners and oval lenticle with an urn and eagle mount, the arched hood with foliate clasp, sound frets to the top and sides and surmounted by later giltwood finials, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the matted centre with a seconds ring, rolling moonphase, date, day and month apertures, above a painted scene from the gospel of St. Luke, the weight driven movement with anchor escapement and strike on two bells, previously with a musical mechanism, reveneered, restorations
