A NEO-GREC MARQUETRY INLAID AND EBONIZED CENTER TABLE
Probably New York City, circa 1870
The rectangular top with bowed sides and squared outset corners centering marquetry-inlay depicting two birds amongst branches with cherry clusters enclosed by geometric and foliate scroll inlay and framed by an ormolu edge above a conforming frame embellished with leaf and bow inlay and incised gilt detailing, and one side fitted with a long drawer, all over an applied ormolu trim flanked by rectangular reserves above compressed-ball and tapered column-turned legs with ormolu mounts and leaf and striated gilt incising joined by curule-shaped veneered stretchers centered by a raised and veneered ovoid plaque, on hairy paw feet
30¼in. high, 50¾in. wide, 31½in. deep
