Decorated overall in low relief with trailing foliage, the pierced shaped galleried rectangular top centred by a beeded roundel with a mystical animal, above five small drawers and a pigeon-hole and a hinged sloping red leather-lined writing-surface enclosing two small drawers and two simulated drawers, above a shaped apron, supported by mystical birds and animals intertwined with foliage, the back of the kneehole centred by a mask, the right hand side with an ink drawer above a pierced panelled door enclosing four drawers, the reverse with low relief foliate panels with birds on a pierced base with two supporting mythical animals
