Woven in wools and silks, depicting Diana and probably Apollo, with Diana holding a spear with her dog to the left and Apollo holding his spear standing to the right, within a wooded landscape and with a vista to the centre, within a floral and foliate border with strapwork cartouches centred by a winged and arrowed insignia, within a blue outer slip, extensive reweaving and patching, possibly reduced in size

Lot Essay
A tapestry with nearly identical borders and identical winged and arrowed insignias to the corners was offered by a German noble family in these Rooms, 26 November 1996, lot 216.
